As a system administrator you will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable day-to-day operation of contracted systems and servers including installation and configuration of hardware, software and subsystems including for proactively checking and monitoring to avoid system outage.Key responsibilities:
- Installation, implementation, upgrading, performance, security, patching and monitoring of WebSphere
- Maximizing availability and performance for all WASND and IBM HTTP Server Plugins and IBM HTTP Server systems
- Providing technical assistance to the entire customer staff of developers, operators and administrators
- Developing a detailed understanding of WebSphere Application Server Clustering for High Availability
- Monitoring, tracking, trending, analysis and tuning of the WebSphere environments
- Validating backup techniques to ensure ease of system recoverability
- Maintaining the system integrity and security by following the published Server Configuration Standards.
- Support and implementation of the Security policies and Controls as defined and developed by the Information Security team
- Participate in an “on-call" rotation.
Technical skills or abilities:
- At least 5 years of experience as Admin
- Proven experience in implementing complex integration solutions
- Experienced in Web Sphere runtime topologies
- Experienced in IBM HTTPS Server (HIS)
- Experienced with XML and HTML
- Experienced in Web services (e.g., SOAP, UDDI, WSDL, etc.)
- Experience in Websphere Enterprise Service Bus events, problem determination, administration, and performance tuning.
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences of varying technical aptitudes.
