Direct tax accounting analyst role represents responsibility to provide accounting service in meeting regulatory and external tax reporting requirements for IBM’s legal entities and operations.Job Description
- Communicate to IBM tax operation team any changes or potential changes in US GAAP or local GAAP accounting policies and processes that impact tax accounting
- Assess the impact of potential or enacted changes in tax laws or rates on tax accounts as required in related corporate instructions
- Analyze and calculate all book vs. tax differences for the full year provision calculation purposes
- Report to the tax representatives the key tax accounting figures for purpose of the taxable income projections, estimated tax payments and CHQ planning
- Prepare and submit on timely basis the reporting package for the CHQ Income tax accounting
- Ensure timely preparation of the true up reconciliation in required quality, ensure that all reconciled items are reasonable and agree to underlying supporting documentation
- Deliver timely and quality reporting for purpose of direct income tax return, monitor its submission and ensure compliance with defined timeline and stated targets
- Prepare timely and in the expected quality all required tax related disclosures and other reporting needed for financial statements preparation
- Record and monitor on regular basis the split of year-to-date current and deferred taxes based on the full year projected temporary differences and income tax return, lead its review process with the tax management
- Ensure quarterly review of tax reserves and ensure their accuracy
Requirements:
- University education (Bachelor’s degree) – preferably in Economics/Accounting
- Working experience - in Finance/Accounting
- Interest in the Tax area
- Fluent English written and spoken
- Logical thinking
- Very good communication and organizational skills
- Willingness to learn and work with numbers
- The ability to make fast and accurate decisions based on available facts
