Amazon is seeking a Procurement Automation Specialist to play a crucial role in streamlining and optimizing the procurement processes within the Tech Sourcing and Infrastructure (TSI) organization by leveraging technology and automation solutions. Your primary goal will be to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the overall effectiveness of the procurement function. As a Procurement Automation Specialist, you will be responsible for implementing and managing automation solutions to enhance the procurement process. You will work closely with procurement teams, IT department, and vendors to identify automation opportunities, select appropriate tools, and ensure the successful integration and optimization of automation technologies. The Procurement Automation Specialist plays a critical role in modernizing procurement operations, driving cost savings, and ensuring compliance. You will be instrumental in leveraging technology to make procurement processes more efficient, accurate, and transparent.

Key job responsibilities
Process Analysis: Analyze current procurement processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for automation improvement.

Technology Assessment: Research, evaluate, and select procurement automation tools and software that align with the organization's needs and goals.

Continuous Improvement: Regularly evaluate and enhance procurement practices and cost-saving strategies to ensure ongoing efficiency and effectiveness in the procurement process.

Automation Design: Implement automation strategies and workflows for procurement processes, including purchase requisitions, purchase orders, vendor management, and invoice processing.

Integration: Collaborate with IT teams to integrate automation tools with existing procurement systems and other relevant software (e.g., Coupa).

Vendor Management: Work closely with automation technology vendors to ensure software deployment, updates, and troubleshooting.

Training and Documentation: Provide training to procurement staff on how to use automation tools effectively and create user guides and documentation.

Data Management: Manage data analysis, data cleansing, and data quality initiatives to ensure accurate and reliable procurement data.

Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor and assess the performance of automation solutions, making necessary adjustments and improvements.

Compliance: Ensure that automated procurement processes adhere to relevant industry standards, internal policies, and compliance standards.

Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities to reduce procurement costs through automation and process improvements.

Troubleshooting: Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the automation implementation and operation.

Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and supply chain, to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Generally required knowledge:

- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business, supply chain management, or information technology,
- 3 years experience in procurement or equivalent role (supply chain, logistics, etc.).
- Experience in procurement tools and automation software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of data management and integration principles
- Project management skills to oversee automation projects.
- Continuous learning and adaptability to keep up with evolving automation technologies

Preferred qualifications:
- Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management, with a focus on automation and process improvement (minimum 3 years)
- Strong understanding of procurement processes and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in procurement automation software and tools (RPA, VBA, analytics, CLM)
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (Coupa preferred) – catalogs, cXML, order tracking, PO automation
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of data management and integration principles.
- Project management skills to oversee automation projects.
- Continuous learning and adaptability to keep up with evolving automation technologies.
- Continuous improvement/Lean Six Sigma operating experience
