Job information

We have an exciting opportunity to work for a new automotive Company in the Nitra region. We are hiring for the position of Current Manufacturing Engineering Manager in one of the following areas; Body Construction, Paint and Final Assembly.

The Current Manufacturing Engineering Manager orchestrates all product and process engineering activities for the operation and provides support to production assembly teams to ensure that the objectives of quality, cost, efficiency and output are achieved.
The manager oversees, monitors and leads current production activities as well as introduction of new models and engineering changes into existing facilities.

Main Responsibilities:

• Providing manufacturing engineering support to production assembly teams to ensure that the objectives of safety, ergonomics, quality, cost, efficiency and output are achieved
• Continuous process improvements using the Integrated production system and lean manufacturing principles such as Kaizen, Poke-Yoke, and 5S
• Ensuring all engineering changes are controlled to comply with corporate and regulatory requirements
• Supporting the introduction of new products and processes into the existing manufacturing area with correct documentation which is delivered on time to the highest quality to meet customer demands
• Defect prevention using PFMEA, control plan and reaction plans
• Supporting tooling and capital acquisition activities and validating the new equipment capability
• Technical problem solving, including use of dimensional data for root cause analysis
• Developing safe working practices
• Working with manpower planning to develop efficient assembly processes
• Role model leadership behaviours to develop high performing team by mentoring and coaching
• Ensure every team member has line of sight and understands the part they play in ensuring we drive down our manufacturing cost per unit whilst improving our safety and quality performance
• Identifying and leading plans to drive continuous performance improvements in relation to process, tooling, workplace and environment

Information for the applicant:

• Degree or diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering
• Significant experience as a leader of engineers or a manager of engineering projects
• Strong people management and leadership skills
• Deep knowledge of product and process development with high level of technical automotive engineering skills
• Experience of specifying and designing new automation to realise productivity targets
• Able to demonstrate confident negotiation and communication skills
• Proficient in managing risk assessments, FMEAs, control and reaction plans for industrial automation equipment using safety standards
• Significant experience in the application of a logical approach to problem solving
• Flexible, self-motivated and confident team player with integrity and discipline
• Conversant with CAD Engineering systems as well as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Possess knowledge and proven skills in one of the following: Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen; Project management
• Can think strategically as well as tactically
• Proficient in English
• Willingness to undertake international travel
