Job information

In this role you will strengthen the Datawarehouse Solutions unit. This unit is responsible for development and maintenance of one of the largest business datawarehouses of SwissRe. Specific focus will be on developing and maintaining of datamarts for the Life & Health/Direct Insurance side of the business.

Key responsibilities:
• Technical design, implementation and maintenance of interfaces and database applications (mainly data marts for customer needs)
• SQL and PL/SQL development
• Performance analysis and tuning
• Improvement of data flows and automation of interfaces, based on existing architecture
• Assurance of data quality and performing of reconciliations
• Gather and analyze information requirements, understanding the business issues and challenges of our clients in co-ordination with other IT units,
• Elaborate and present exploitation processes (e.g. high level concepts and detail specification documents),
• Continuous improvement of software, data and process quality

Generally required knowledge:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in a technical field or experience in the respective areas, preferably Information Technology
• Min. 3-5 years experience with Oracle (we are running Oracle 12c) database development (Data modeling, Database design, SQL, PL/SQL, performance tuning)
• Solid knowledge of database development tools (i.e. TOAD, SQLPlus, SVN)
• Knowledge of ETL tools (i.e. PowerCenter) and Data modeling tools (i.e. Power Designer) is an advantage
• Knowledge of Microsoft BI tools (especially multidimensional backend) is an advantage

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Good command of English, knowledge of German is an asset
• Good level of communication
• Ability to work under pressure
• Independent and responsive in character and work

• Excellent team player attributes combined with a proactive approach and a 'can do' attitude
