Job information

• Creating database, configure parameters, upgrade/migration, monitoring, backup/restore
• DB2 Database Security Model
• Review and Execute DDL, review DB2 diag. logs, notification logs
• Resolve locks and deadlocks
• Analyse and recommend performance enhancements in database design, SQL queries and DB setup
• Maintain and enhance database availability, manage large number of connections/users
• Project and task reporting
• Communication with management, key-users, team members and suppliers

Generally required knowledge:

• Min. secondary with school-leaving examination – technical education and background
• English – advanced
• Min. 4years of experience with DB2 DBA (Linux, Unix and Windows)
• A robust knowledge of DB2 Database architecture, fundamentals
• Experience with DB2 V9 or higher
• Hands on with management/monitoring tools DB2
• Good in root cause analysis of any outage from DB2 logs
• Solid knowledge on Database character sets (UTF8 and Non-UTF8 Database)
• Hands on exposure on Data movement tools(db2move, export, import …)
• Experience with Linux, Unix Platform and knowledge about Linux/Unix basic commands

Advantage:
• DB2 certification
